Attention: The Motel Life is looking for a new drummer!
We are looking for a drummer to serve in our band. We will also be looking for a drummer for our tour this summer. So if you or know anyone in the Southern California area that wants to try out, email us at themotellife@gmail.com. Must meet the following qualifications:
• be over 18 years old • be able to tour throughout the months of July August (anything more than that is plus) • be able to support themselves financially • be able to quote cheesy 80s and 90s movies
Went to this show the other night. Maybe it was just because it had been so long since I had been to a show but,
This show just hit me so hard. It was so beautiful and perfect. And inspiring. I made friends with these guys after I knew them as a band. But even now I forget just how amazingly good the music they make is. And how even more amazing it is to see them play it. And I truly mean amazing, as in I was amazed. It was hard for me to do anything more than just stand there and stare.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, check these guys out if you know what’s good for you.
So things have been kind of quiet on the TML home front for these last couple weeks. We’ve been going through some changes that have really been consuming our attention and have really been giving us a new perspective on the idea of being in a band. We regret to announce that our drummer of three years, Nick Camacho, has left the band by his own choice for personal reasons. It was hard for both parties to see him go and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. Our friend Adam of the band Jahmbi will be filling in for Nick on our show on the 29th. We want to thank him for helping us out and subbing in on such short notice.
I can’t really think of anyone who enjoys the thrill of changing a member in a line up but for the most part, this decision is best for everyone. We are still charging forward as a band. It’s been said that the hurt of lose will bring people closer together or something like that. As for the future of TML, we are in the planning stages of releasing some new music very soon, and we are still planning on booking a summer tour. Some things really got hurt during this weird time, but we are working hard to get everything together and make our sound something we can be proud of.
I guess I can’t really ramble anymore on this subject. Thank you guys for still supporting us and not suspecting we’re dead. Please Please Please come out to our show on the 29th at Aladdin Jr in Pomona, CA and show support (we’re playing at 9:30 PM), bring a friend even. Expect some big updates in the coming months.
